Eight Infinity Suites are located in the traditional capital of Milos, Plaka. Plaka has been the crown jewel of Milos for centuries, overlooking the magnificent bay of Adamas and the entrance of the port; the heart of melian life. The locals built the Kastro (castle in Greek), on the top of the high hill to protect their community from the pirates and have a safe viewpoint over the entrance of the grand bay of Adamas. As their community grew bigger, the settlement expanded outside the Kastro, to the lower levels, creating what is now the amazing cobble-stoned maze of narrow alleys that invites you to get lost in the captivating island life, and hide away from your troubles.
No other village in Milos can compete with the regal and traditional atmosphere of Plaka, intertwined with an artistic breeze that simply makes it unique.
Fuschia bugainvilleas spot the blinding white square houses with the blue windows, colorful galleries and shops light up the narrow streets, music from bouzouki and a guitar can be heard from a kafeneio just round the corner and an intoxicating smell of delicious food being cooked are all here, just a few steps away from from your luxurious residence in Eight Infinity Suites. In the evening, you can simply enjoy a refreshing drink, as you watch the sun lazily diving into the water and even two in one of the few cozy bars, with great music to accompany your blissful Plaka nights. And for the sweet-tooth in you, some of the best pastry shops are also found in the alleys of Plaka.
Plaka is a village with protected architecture; it is a declared traditional village so do not expect to find any vehicles in the alleys; you can leave your vehicle in the private parking lot of Eight Infinity Suites, to save you any trouble, and simply walk 5’ into the alleys, to your secluded Suites.
This extraordinary atmosphere stands a mere 5’ above the villages of Triovasalos, Trypiti and Plakes, that all expanded through the years around Plaka and are home to the majority of the local population. Besides a peak into the original melian life, those villages have plenty of shops, supermarkets, local kafeneia, restaurants, pharmacies and whatever you might need during your stay. And for a quick historical morning, the Archaeological and Folklore Museums in Plaka and the archaeological sites of Trypiti (the Catacombs, the ancient theater and of course the place where Venus de Milo was discovered) are waiting to tell you all about how the Melian history evolved through the years.
